Obituary

Edward W. Dooley, age 77, of Maple Lake, formerly of New Hope, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Unity Hospital in Fridley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Michael Izen will officiate and burial will be in St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, immediately followed by the Rosary led by the Knights of Columbus at the funeral home.

Edward W. Dooley was born April 28, 1930 in Bottineau, ND to Cyril and Antoinette (Guimond) Dooley. He married Gloria Richardson on June 5, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale. Edward served his country in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was self employed as a building contractor for over 45 years. Edward was a former member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Crystal and a current member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake, where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the Tuesday Toiler's. He also was a member of the Maple Lake VFW Post 7664 and the Maple Lake American Legion Post 131. Edward was a master craftsman and enjoyed altar serving at St. Tim's, woodworking and his family. He was very proud of his family, especially his nine children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; children, Deborah (Rich) Stanchfield of Maple Grove, Denise of Brooklyn Park, Micki King of Rockford, Stephen of Maple Grove, Patrick (Diane) of Maple Lake, Catherine (Hank) Breyaert of Williamsburg, VA, Rosemary (Jim) Wagner of Brooklyn Park, John (Darla) of Corcoran and Mary Bridget (Nick) Olsen of Maple Lake; sisters, Dorothy Seifert of Auburn, CA, Audrey (Carl) Peterson of Luck, WI, Patricia Dooley of Albertville and Mary Ellen (Bob) Kubic of Brooklyn Park; brother, Dick (Karol) of Mora; brothers-in-law, John Meyers and Bob (Barb) Richardson; 25 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Adele Dooley.

Pallbearers will be Nick, Alex, Patrick and Paul Dooley, Jeremy Stanchfeild, Stephen Breyaert, Ryan Wagner and Robby Olsen. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox, Sarah Goelz, Alison Totz and Sandra Ostlund will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
