Edith L. Theder, age 97, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will follow in St. Timothy`s Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel in Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Friday.
Edith Lucy Theder was born November 18, 1907 in Maple Lake to Thomas and Amanda Antil. She married Lawrence Hance in St. Timothy`s Catholic Church on April 23, 1928. Lawrence died in 1946 as a result of an automobile accident. Edith married Henry Theder on July 5, 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1974. Her son, Thomas Hance and two brothers, Ralph & Raymond Antil also preceded her in death. Edith lived her lifetime in Maple Lake where she was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for Lake Region Transport. She was a lifelong member of St. Timothy`s Church, an eighty-year member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and also a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by daughter from her first marriage, Mary (Dick) Malachek of Maple Lake; daughter in law, Mary Hance of Northfield; sisters in law, Mary Antil of Green Bay, JoAnn Round of Buffalo; four grandchildren, Dan Malachek (Robin Miller) of New Hope, Betsy (Roger) Hagerman of Crystal, Nadine (Pat) Schoen of St. Michael, Janet (Jerry) Tritch of Chanhassen; nine great grandchildren, Bob, Rick, Alex, Emily, Travis, Zachary, Caleb, Kassandra Edith, & Anna.
The pallbearers will be Dan, Bob & Rick Malachek, Nadine & Pat Schoen, Roger & Alex Hagerman, and Jerry Tritch. Sarah Goeltz, Anne Elsenpeter, Krista Tarbox & Sandy Repke will provide the music for the service.
