Obituary
Edith E. Dahlgren, age 98, of Litchfield formerly of Kimball died Saturday, July 2, 2005 at Emmanuel Home, Litchfield.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Ostmark Lutheran Church, Watkins with Rev. Melinda Melhus officiating. Burial will follow in Ostmark Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the church.
Edith Elvera Dahlgren was born December 22, 1906 at Cokato to Carl and Ida (Johnson) Meline. She was baptized in January of 1907 in Stockholm Lutheran Church and confirmed December 20, 1920 in Ostmark Lutheran Church. She married Rudolph P. Dahlgren on August 16, 1930 in Minneapolis and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1999. Edith was a homemaker and along with Rudy farmed in Kingston Township, Meeker County for 60 years. She was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church and WELCA. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, baking cookies, flowers & gardening and was very proud of her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores Rice & her husband Jerry of Watkins; grandsons, Steven (Carla) of Spicer, Jamison (Meredith) of St. Louis Park; great grandsons, Elijah & Ethan; sister, Gladys (Earl) Munson of Watkins; brother in law, George Pancake of Litchfield; and sister in law, Irene Meline of Kimball; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and eight brothers & sisters, Elmer, Lillian Baker, Archie, Myrtle Rathmanner, Clarence, Amy Pancake, Violet Dye and Rudolph.
The pallbearers will be Steven & Jamison Rice, Edward, George, & Ronald Meline, and Ronald Strand. Ryan Rice, soloist and Sandy Brown, organist will provide the music for the service. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
