Obituary

Pettis, Earl Junior, age 90, of Maple Lake, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2009, at home after a short illness.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake with Pastor Judy Burgett Winzig officiating. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to Heartland Hospice in St. Cloud, Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo or a charity of the donor's choice.

He was born November 7, 1918 to Earl and Hazel Pettis and was raised in the Waterville area. He later moved to Mankato, Minneapolis and then Maple Lake where he enjoyed being a faithful fan of the Maple Lake Lakers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Jay Beach; son, Russell; and brother, George. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruby; and his son Earl Jay (Carol); grandchildren, Terri Hansen, Russell (Renee), Rhonda Mcfaul, Jean (Paul) Brannick, Linda (Michael) Sullivan; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Jayn (Ellsworth) Fretham; brother, Francis (Mary) Beach; many nieces, nephews and friends.
