Douglas D. Rathje, age 66, of Annandale died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. The Rev. Philip Geoffrion will officiate. Memorials are preferred.
Douglas Dale Rathje was born August 30, 1941 to Alfred and Helen (Grovender) Rathje on the family farm in Albion Township, Wright County. He married Jeanette C. Danelke on May 14, 1966 in Annandale. He was a farmer and also a welder for Ambassador Company, Annandale. Doug was a member of the Wright County Saddle Club and enjoyed chariot racing, fishing, hunting, gardening, bingo, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and spending time with his granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jeanette of Annandale; sons, Steven of Annandale, Michael of Fair Haven; granddaughter, Emily; mother, Helen of Annandale; sisters, brother & their spouses, Beverly & Clifford Lund, Beryl & Gary Geisinger, David & Peggy Rathje, all of Annandale. His father, Alfred preceded him in death.
The honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Anderson, Dale Miller, Tom Magnuson, Steve Robasse, Wally Walberg, Vada Huro, David Rathje, and John Bruns. Beverly Lund, Wally Gloege, and Harley Wilson will provide the music for the service. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
