Obituary
Dorothy H. Mertens, age 86, of 9293 Willow Creek Road, Kimball died Monday, August 18, 2003 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2003 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Kimball with Rev. David Grundman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball. There will be a prayer service 6 p.m. Thursday.
Dorothy Helen Mertens was born July 11, 1917 at Bancroft, SD to Aldelbert and LuLu (Holland) Clement. She married Henry A. Mertens January 2, 1942 in Brooten and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1997. She was a homemaker and a TMA at Madden`s Nursing Home, Kimball for 20 years. She lived in Kimball for the past 60 years and was a member of St. Anne`s Church.
She is survived by 12 children & their spouses, Joan & Edmund Theisen of Perham, Jean & DuWayne Orbeck of Kimball, John & Judi of St. Cloud, James of Kimball, Lona Nathe of Luxemburg, David of Watkins, Cherry & John Hengel of St. Cloud, Roxanne & David Donnay of Waite Park, Debra & Steven Vossen of Watkins, Patrick & Lynda of South Haven, Paul & Debra of Clearwater, Ramona & Mike Olk of Kimball, 30 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 infant children, Carol & Louis, son, Charles, 2 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers.
The pallbearers will be grandsons, Kevin Reil, Eric Nathe, Cory & Craig Hengel, Jason & Nathan Mertens, Jeff & Mark Orbeck. St. Anne`s Choir will provide the music.
