Dorothy Lucille (Magnuson) Jensen age 90 passed away peacefully Monday, August 26, 2013 at Heritage House of Kimball. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 30 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service. Funeral Services will be Saturday, Aug. 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kimball United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Felska officiating. Interment will be at the Kimball Cemetery.
Dorothy Lucille Jensen was born June 29, 1923 in Kingston Township to Archie and Myrtle (Cates) Magnuson. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1942 and married George W. Jensen on April 28, 1945 in Kingston. She was the true meaning of a farmer's wife, working side by side with her husband. In addition to farming she worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Kingston Creamery and Land O' Lakes Oil Co. in Kimball. They moved to Kimball in 1995 and she moved to Heritage House in March of 2012. She was a member of the Kingston American Legion Auxiliary and the Kimball United Methodist Church. Dorothy was a great cook and well known to many for her homemade angel food cakes. Any day she could spend with family and extended family was a great day for her.
She is survived by two sons, George D. (Diane) of Melrose and Larry (Lois) of Kimball. Five grandchildren; Kelli (Tom) Schreiner, Eric (Lisa) Jensen, Kurt Jensen, Ross (Melissa) Jensen, Kevin Jensen and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Rodney Magnuson of Litchfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George W. on September 25, 1997, sisters Helen Anderson & Alice Anderson, and a great-grandson Tyler Jensen.
The pallbearers will be Tom & Kelli Schreiner, Ross, Kevin, & Eric Jensen, and Craig Anderson.
