Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy D. 'Dordy' Kessler, age 70, of Annandale formerly Minneapolis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Father Harry Walsh officiating. Inurnment will follow in Pleasantview Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale.

Dorothy Doreen 'Dordy' Kessler was born October 1, 1934 in Little Falls to Frederick & Philomenia (Dengel) Heurung. She grew up and attended school in Little Falls. In 1952 Lawrence J. Kessler swept her off her feet at the Silver Corners Dance Hall and they were married at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Little Falls on October 12, 1953. In 1954 they moved to the Twin Cities and started their family. After raising her children in North Minneapolis, Dorothy worked 10 years for North Memorial Medical Center as a Dietary Aide. During her last years at North Memorial, they purchased a home on Indian Lake, rural Maple Lake. After retirement they moved to their lake home where they enjoyed several years of fishing and gardening until moving to Annandale in 2000. Each home they lived in was surrounded by many flower gardens as well as a large vegetable garden.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Lawrence of Annandale; sons, daughters, and their spouses, Robert (Grace) of Sebeka, Jean Kessler of Buffalo, Mary Jo Schlee of Excelsior, Lynn (Rob) Antony of Rogers, Jeffrey (Jodie) of Duluth, and Bradley (Michelle) of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren, Robert Jr., Shawnna,Brandon, Adam, Cassie, Chad, Joshua, Brianna, Tyler, Emily, Paige, and Maddy; great grandchildren, Deliliah, Hailey, Clayton, Derrick, and Travis; sisters, Florence (Daniel) Piekarski of Little Falls, Beverly (Richard) Waddell of Buffalo, and Judith (Keith) Anderson of St. James; brother, Robert of Little Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roland, Frederick Jr., Albert, and Victor; and sisters, Louise, Evelyn, Geraldine, and Rosemary.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
