Mrs. Dorothy M. (Nelson) Hansen, age 83, of Annandale died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Buffalo Hospital.
Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2004 at the Annandale Evangelical Free Church, Annandale with Rev. Dennis Johnson, Rev. Gary Partridge, and Rev. Donald Fischer officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the celebration on Friday at the church in Annandale. There will be a prayer service 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Dorothy M. Hansen was born February 20, 1921 in Minneapolis to Albert and Lillian (Peacock) Klatke. She married Earl Nelson August 25, 1939 and he preceded her in death June 8, 1977. She married Lloyd Hansen February 16, 1986 and he preceded her in death December 2, 1994. Dorothy was a homemaker and lived in the Annandale area most of her life. She was a member of the Annandale Evangelical Free Church and a member of the Maple Lake VFW Auxiliary #7664. Dorothy loved her family, church, crossword puzzles, sewing, flower gardens, volunteering her time, and was known to be a grandma to everyone.
Dorothy is survived by sons, Roger (Gretta) Nelson of Buffalo, Marvin Nelson of Saxe, VA, David (Jenny) Nelson of Rice, Jim Nelson of Annandale; daughter, Bette (Tim) Provo of Annandale; sister, Margaret Eldridge of St. Paul; brother, John (Rita) Klatke of Miltona; 20 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Also survived by Lloyd Hansen`s family, Lee (Gordon) Cummins, Lloyd (Diane) Hansen, Duane (Patty) Hansen, and Denise (Paul) Oie all of St. Paul; and their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Norman, Harris, and Kenneth; sons, Wayne, Paul, and Mark; and 4 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roger, Marvin, David, Jim, and Mitch Nelson, and Tim Provo. Music for the funeral provided by Lucille Schermer, Jim Nelson, Ben Obinger, Bob Hanson, and Rev. Gary Partridge.
