Donald A. Weiste, age 75, of Annandale, formerly of Maple Lake and Minneapolis died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at his home in Annandale.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Rev. D.J. Lura will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Donald Arthur Weiste was born March 15, 1932 in Ludden, ND to Arthur and Sylvia (Korpi) Weiste. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Donald married Ruth Rice in Minneapolis and she preceded him in death on July 13, 1999. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and was a member of the Maple Lake VFW Post 7664. He enjoyed spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his sons and their wives, Steven and Sarah Short of Sauk Rapids, and Doug and Robin Short of Annandale; two sisters, Janice and Brenda; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; and two great grandsons, Fernando Rocha and Austin Gordon.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Bill and Ken Short, Chad Trattles, Bob Olson and Frank Rogers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
