Donald J. Donabauer, age 61, of Fair Haven Township, died Saturday, December 30, 2023, after a short battle with cancer, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

A visitation in celebration of Don's life will be held at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. led by Pastor Joe Druga.

Donald James Donabauer was born May 20, 1962, in St. Cloud to Gilbert and Sharon (Ahearn) Donabauer. He grew up in Waite Park, graduating from ROCORI High School and continued his education at St. Cloud Vocational-Technical School. He worked at the Main Street Pub in Kimball as well as a number of other places prior to joining R.M. Johnson Co. Inc., also known as E-Z Crusher, in Annandale as a Purchasing Agent. On February 14, 1987, Don was united in marriage to Kelly Johnson at the Kimball Church of Christ; he considered it the best day of his life. He was a member of the NRA and a former member of Fair Haven Christian Church. He enjoyed being in the outdoors working in his vegetable garden, hunting anything that moved, and fishing all year round. He loved to spend time with his family at home and with his "second family" up north at the cabin.

Don is survived by his wife, Kelly of Fair Haven; son, Nicholas of Dent; daughter, Samantha (Zach) Reinert of Fair Haven; siblings, Michael (Kathy) Donabauer and Cindy (Chad) Almgren; sisters-in-law, Anne Donabauer, Kerry Johnson-Nolan (Skip Nolan), and Kristy (Tom) Harren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Sharon Donabauer; and brother, Chuck Donabauer.
