Obituary

Derek Brandon Kammerer, age 22 of Maple Lake died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 as a result of a tragic car accident that also claimed the lives of his girlfriend, Andrea Northern and best friend, Michael DeMars.

Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2008 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake. Burial will be in the Maple Lake Community Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Derek Brandon Kammerer was born November 12, 1985 in St. Louis Park to Howard and Teresa (Arola) Kammerer. He has worked at Rhino Plastics and Warrior Boats, both in Maple Lake and was currently working in Masonry work. When Derek worked, he worked hard; when he played, he played hard. He was known by his sisters as D-Dock. Derek enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, music and being with family and friends. Derek's laugh and goofy antics will never be forgotten.

Derek is survived by his parents, Howard and Teresa of Maple Lake; sister, Tarah (boyfriend, Jesse Johnson) of Spring Park and twin sister, Amy of Maple Lake; niece Josslyn Kammerer-Johnson; grandparents, Celine (Jack) Templeton of Puerta Vallarta, Mexico, Mississippi and Ely, and Phyllis Arola of Robbinsdale; 15 aunts and uncles; 44 cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer Arola and Bill Kammerer; great grandparents, Howard & Adeline Kammerer and Rose & Bill Roeck.Derek and Andrea are together forever in love.The pallbearers will be Michael, Craig, & Billy Gustafson, Travis & Kyle Dahlstrom, and Eric Arola. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
