Mr. Dennis `The Cat` Eichten, age 61, of Annandale, MN died Monday, December 9, 2002 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Rev. Stan Kozlak officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel in Annandale.
Dennis Peter Eichten was born June 1, 1941 in Wanda, MN to Ralph and Frances (Ludwig) Eichten. He married Darlene R. Wurm November 9, 1963 in Maple Lake. He worked as a foreman in water and sewer construction for 35 years, retiring in 1999 and also worked part-time as a bartender in Annandale. He had lived in Annandale since 1968, previously living in Maple Lake and Ethan, SD. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and Union Local #563 of Minneapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Annandale; children, Steve & his wife, Jen of Mounds View, Theresa of Plymouth, Melissa Stanger of Crystal, Michael of Waconia; mother, Fran Eichten of Monticello; 4 grandchildren, Carly & Andy Eichten, Alexandra & Brady Stanger; brothers, sisters, & their spouses, Ralph & Sherry of Brooklyn Park, Lawrence `Red` & Cathi of Maple Lake, Russ & Bev of Holdingford, Joyce & Jim Schneider of Mitchell, SD, Carol & Lawrence Wurm of Maple Lake, Sharon & Dave Larson of Monticello, Pat & Fred Culp of Monticello; many nieces & nephews. His father preceded him in death.
The pallbearers will be Chad & Jake Eichten, Jerry & Greg Wurm, David Schneider, Kevin Larson, and John Culp.
