Delpha Eleanor Sporrong was born July 21, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Conrad and Anna Florence (Gerber) Nelson. Del grew up in Minneapolis where she attended school, graduating from North High School in 1938. Following graduation, she worked for the U.S. military in New Jersey. On June 7, 1947, Delpha was united in marriage to Robert Edward Sporrong at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They lived and raised their family in North Minneapolis. Del & Bob moved to Clearwater Lake near Annandale in 1970 and later moved to Bass Lake. Del worked as an office assistant for Camp Friendship. She was a charter member of the Minneapolis and Annandale chapters of Sweet Adelines International. Del also sang in church choirs and loved to play the piano. Del enjoyed Bible study, music, traveling, watching the loons and sunsets at the lake, and volunteering for the DNR by checking the lake quality.  She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, loved people, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, being with her family and friends, and baking cookies with the Camp Friendship ladies. To spend more time with family, she created an annual tradition of weekends away with her daughters and granddaughters that she treasured in her heart.

Del is survived by her 5 daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" (Craig) Laing of Annandale, Stephanie "Penny" Geisler of St. Cloud, Mary Melodee (David) Andrews of South Haven, Therese "Terri" (Louis) Nagel of South Haven, and Margaret "Peggy" (James) Dvorak of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth Butterfield, Jennifer Klaas, Jessica Bad Heart Bull, Robert Andrews, Katherine Statz, Stephanie Andrews, Ann Barrett, Caitlin Dvorak, Alex Dvorak, Brendan Nagel, and Adam Nagel; 15 great grandchildren, Gavin, Gabriel, Vienna, Ellis, Janelle, Bailee, Noelle, Ethan, Maija, Jocelyn, Daytrin, Adelynn, Elijiah, Liam, and Ella; and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Florence; husband, Robert; and son-in-law Robert Geisler.

Del's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
