Mr. Delbert C. 'Bert' Marschel, age 78, of Annandale died Saturday, October 29, 2005 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. David Doppenberg officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the funeral Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Monday.
Delbert Carl 'Bert' Marschel was born September 25, 1927 in Buffalo to William and Freida (Kiphuth) Marschel. He married Ruth E. Gunderson on October 15, 1949 in Annandale. As a young man Delbert did custom combining work in several states; he later was an assistant manager at the Annandale Elevator; and in 1954 went to work for Model Stone, Minneapolis retiring in 1989. He lived in Annandale most of his life where he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Delbert loved his family, fishing, hunting, playing cards, horseshoes, and watching sports.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Ruth of Annandale; sons, daughters and their spouses, Nancy (Les) Rotz of Pelican Rapids, Janice (John) Earl of Monticello, Debra (Wayne) Clark of Annandale, Kevin (Linda) of Maple Lake, Ronald of Annandale, Roger (Linda) of Big Lake, Alan of Annandale, Lori (Scott) Fleischacker of Annandale, and Randy (Karla) of Howard Lake; brother, Vernon (Gladys) of Annandale; sisters, Arliene Huikko of Annandale, Lillian (Ervin) Walters of Watkins, and Joyce Nelson of Annandale; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Roy; and brothers, Arnie and Ben.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Clark, John Earl, Scott Fleischacker, Les, Philip, and Paul Rotz. Music for the funeral provided by Diane Johnson and Vicki Greene.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
