Dean C. Stearns, age 75, of Silver Creek, died in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday May 15, 2016.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4 to 8pm with a presentation at 6pm, Thursday, May 26th, 2016 at Chester Bird American Legion Post 523; 200 N Lilac Drive, Golden Valley MN, 55422.

Dean Clark Stearns was born April 11, 1941 in Minneapolis to Paul and Phyliss (Carpenter) Stearns. On July 21, 1961, he was united in marriage to Janice Kurtzbein in Minneapolis. He was a lover of outdoors, music, theater and films. A big spirit who loved to laugh and spend time with family and friends. He was a wonderful singer. A commanding presence with a gentle soul. He will be missed, but as he was fond of saying, "It is what it is".

Dean is survived by his wife Janice; children Bradley Stearns of Minneapolis, Scott Stearns of Elk River, Laura Adams of Minneapolis; six grandchildren Tucker Adams, Luke Stearns, Cameron Stearns, Calvin Adams, Zachary Stearns, and Julia Stearns; and brothers Gary Stearns of Mound, Lynn Stearns of Edina, and Kent Stearns of St. Paul.  He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Phyllis; and brothers Joseph Stearns and Jay Stearns.
