David L. Bissonnette, age 67, of St. Louis Park, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the Methodist Hospital. Memorial Services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Deacon Ron Freeman officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota in honor of David. David's family kindly requests all attendees to wear a mask. David Louis Bissonnette was born March 23, 1954, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to W. Louis and Pearl (Marquardt) Bissonnette. David grew up in South Haven and graduated Annandale High School in 1972. Following his graduation, David furthered his education at St. John's University where he obtained his bachelor's degree, and then St. Cloud State University where he obtained his master's degree. David worked as a social worker for over 25 years, with a focus on child protection. On November 17, 2016, David was united in marriage to Ronald Brandt. In his spare time, David enjoyed sewing, a being a weather watcher, with him having given over 5,000 weather reports. He was also an avid collector of antiques, and a passionate and dedicated dog owner. David is survived by his husband, Ron Brandt of St. Louis Park; children, Barb Trushenski of St. Michael and Matthew (Katherine) Brandt of New Hope; 5 grandchildren, Zachary, Tyson, Tate, Eleanor, and Eamon; siblings, Donna (Roger) Rauschendorfer of South Haven and Kathleen (Jerry) Rauschendorfer of Annandale; nieces and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Louis and Pearl; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jerry Thompson; nephews, Gregory, Jeffrey, and Joseph; and niece, Cindy Jacobson.
