Daniel R. Jones, age 76, of South Haven, formerly of Minneapolis, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his home. A committal service with military honors will be held 9:45 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Please assemble in Assembly area 2, 10-15 minutes prior to the service. A toast in honor of Dan will follow the service at Schooner Tavern. Daniel Raymond Jones was born April 18, 1949, in Morris, Minnesota to Raymond and Seani (Brunkow) Jones. He grew up the small town of Ivanhoe and graduated with the Class of 1967 from Marshall High School. Dan proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country from 1967 to 1973; he was stationed primarily in Japan. After returning from military duty, he attended the University of Minnesota in Morris prior to settling in Minneapolis. Dan spent years as a bartender at Ceasars. In time, he transitioned into the tech industry. Upon retirement, Dan returned to his roots behind the bar, pouring drinks and sharing stories at the Schooner Tavern. Dan enjoyed golfing, cheering on his favorite Minnesota sports teams, watching horse racing at Canterbury Park, and reading. Dan is survived by his sisters and brother, Sandy Jones of South Haven, Ralph Jones (Lynn Seeling) of Inver Grove Heights, and Paula Zoff of Duluth; many in-laws, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Linda Warner and Irene Morin; and brothers-in-law, Keith Smith and Pat Morin.
