Obituary

Dale G. Skramstad, age 68 of Annandale, formerly of Minneapolis died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Monticello-Big Lake Hospital.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Rev. Peter Martinson will officiate and burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Dale Gunnard Skramstad was born November 4, 1940 in Duluth to Chris and Norma (Lindquist) Skramstad. He married Lois Boldt on August 7, 1976 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Minneapolis. Dale worked as a Certified Mechanic for Wilhelm Amoco in Richfield; he was a groundskeeper and mechanic at the Osowaski's Flea Market in Monticello; then he worked in printing department at Gannett in Maple Grove. He was an honorary elder in the White Earth Band of Ojibwa. Dale enjoyed hunting, rescuing abused and neglected animals, going to garage sales and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Linda (Bruce) Petersen of Annandale, Martin Sager of New Hope, Susan Sager of Burnsville, Dianna Skramstad of Cloquet and Christopher Skramstad of Barnum; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; special niece and nephews, Robin, Michael and Steven; and many other numerous nieces and nephews.

Urnbearers will be Jeff Petersen, Keith Bragelman, Michael and Steven VanKleeck. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
