Obituary

Dale A. Raustadt, age 81, of Maple Lake, entered the presence of his Savior on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at Heartland Evangelical Free Church, Annandale with Pastor Denny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Dale Allen Raustadt was born on August 30, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dale was the eldest of three boys born to Stanley and Mildred (Anderson) Raustadt. He grew up in New Brighton and was a graduate of Mounds View High School. On January 28, 1961, in Dale's opinion...he was blessed to be married to the love of his life, Jessie Mae Cheney. They exchanged their lifelong commitment to each other at Way of the Cross Church in Mounds View. They lived in Blaine, Minnesota, where they began their family, raising three rambunctious boys. In 1975, after moving to the Lincoln, Minnesota area, Dale took on the challenge of building his own meat market, "Lincoln Meats". He also worked for Two Rivers in Motley, Minnesota. Later Dale retired at age 62, and they moved to the land of mosquito free sunshine in Apache Junction, Arizona. Dale was not one to sit around with nothing to do. He loved riding his motorcycle and it gave him a good excuse to work at Fry's Grocery. After all, he needed a means to get to work! In April 2022, after retiring multiple times Dale and Jessie decided it was time to once again brave the Minnesota cold in exchange for being closer to their loving children and growing grandchildren. Dale was a man blessed with many gifts, talents, and passions. With a love for his family (especially his grandchildren), cars, motorcycles, fishing, and tinkering, he was always doing something. However, his faith was his cornerstone. Dale knew he was a child of God. He gave his life to Christ and spent the rest of it serving in church leadership, AWANA, and other ministry programs. Through his faith, he touched the lives of many. Dale's most important gift was that of "Friendship". If you knew Dale, you knew that he could talk to anyone, anywhere, at any time, for any reason or no reason at all. He radiated the love of Christ to everyone around him. He was a 30-year member of Lincoln Evangelical Free Church, and more recently a member of Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Annandale. Dale is now home in the presence of his Savior. We will miss him, his smile, and his friendship. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Jessie of Maple Lake; sons, David (Emilie DeGala) of Bloomington, Chuck (Sarah) of Annandale; daughter-in-law, Sally Raustadt of Sartell; 5 grandchildren, Jay (Lacey), Daniel, Mia, Grace, and Eli Raustadt; and siblings, Dean (Sharon) Raustadt of Henderson, NV and Lyle Raustadt of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mildred and son, Brian Raustadt. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
