Obituary


Mr. Dale R. Knickerbocker, age 76, of South Haven died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Annandale Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Rev. Mark Willenbring officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mark`s Episcopal Cemetery, Corinna Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Dale Richard Knickerbocker was born May 14, 1928 on Clearwater Lake, rural Annandale to Harry and Blanche (Foster) Knickerbocker. He served his country from 1946-1948 in the U.S. Navy. Dale married Mary V. Sieg October 20, 1951 in Minneapolis. He worked for Model Stone, Minneapolis for 38 years as a block maker, before retiring in 1990. He was a former member of Cement Masons Local #553. Dale lived in the Maple Lake and Annandale area most of his life where he was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale. Dale loved his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin on Birch Lake, near Grey Eagle.

Dale is survived by his wife, Mary of South Haven; sons, Kevin (Tina) of Maple Lake, and Todd (Kelley) of South Haven; sisters, Florence Sheldon of Clear Lake, and Dorothy Tritabough of Eden Valley; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, David; and brother, Aloyis.

Pallbearers will be Neil Knickerbocker, Dennis Taylor, Phillip Tritabough, Conroy Sheldon, Mike Sieg, and Steve Weiss. Music for the funeral provided by Dureen Gasser.
