Dale R. Glunz, age 68, of Maple Lake, died Monday, June 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by the love and care of his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Private burial will be held at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Buffalo. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Dale Richard Glunz was born April 20, 1955, in Buffalo, Minnesota to Raymond and Phyllis (Opat) Glunz. He attended school in Buffalo, where he graduated with the Class of 1974. Following his graduation, Dale joined his father at Ray Glunz Construction. On July 17, 1976, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Windsperger at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Delano. They made their home in Maple Lake, where they also raised their three children, David, Nicole, and Angela. Dale continued working alongside his Dad until 1987. He then went to work for the Wright County Highway Department, until health reasons caused him to retire in 2004. Dale was a longtime member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, as well as the cemetery caretaker of St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Buffalo. For over 46 years, Dale and family provided the upkeep of the cemetery grounds with love and passion. Dale enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and traveling. His greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was one of their biggest supporters in all their endeavors. Dale is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty of Maple Lake; children, David (Erin) Glunz of Monticello, Nicole (Russ) Green of Annandale, and Angela (Clint Gulbranson) Glunz; 7 grandchildren, Julian, Easton, Colton Glunz, Kaylee Thorner, and Becca, Nathan, and Caden Green; siblings, Amy (Mike) Elsenpeter of Maple Lake, Gary Glunz of Plymouth, Linda Glunz of Plymouth, Dean (Diane Beyer) Glunz of Buffalo, and Linda (Harvey) Olson of Buffalo; sisters-in-law, Sue Windsperger of Waconia, Margaret (Albert) Loebertmann of Shakopee, Judy (Allie) Lacina of Winsted, Elaine (Joe Noe) Winsperger of Buffalo, and Kathy (Tom) Maas of Maple Lake; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Phyllis; parents-in-law, Ed and Agnes Windsperger; brothers-in-law, Edward Jr., Donald (Mavis), and Robert Windsperger; and niece, Becky Nelson. Dale's grandchldren will serve as urn bearers. Bill and Janet Windsperger will provide music for the service.
