Clifford H. Walberg, age 90, of Annandale died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Annandale Care Center.

Visitation will be held 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and one hour prior to the service, Monday, at the church.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Zion United Methodist Church in South Haven.  Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, French Lake.

Clifford Howard Walberg was born March 10, 1925 in French Lake to Gustav and Amanda (Opsahl) Walberg. He grew up in French Lake with 5 brothers and 6 sisters.  Cliff attended country school in French Lake, completing grade 8.  As a young man, he served in WWII in Germany with the 84th Infantry "Railsplitters".  He married Beryl A. Moretter on December 8, 1951 and to this union three children were born.  After a short time living in Anoka, they returned to live in French Lake where they made their home the past six decades.  Cliff worked for the Wright County Highway Department for over 25 years, retiring in 1984.

Clifford enjoyed life, especially fishing and hunting.  He was an avid gardener, known to grow some of the best garden produce in the area.  He maintained active into his late 80s by cutting wood and gardening.  Cliff loved to have visitors for coffee and to share stories.  His nephews were especially known to stop often to visit and share some of their "catch" of the day.

Clifford is survived by his son Michael (Mary) Walberg of Elk River; daughter Terri Walberg of St. Cloud; three grandchildren Chad (Tricia) Walberg, Cory Walberg and Sammi Walberg; great grandchild Erika; brother Russell (Nola) Walberg of Annandale; sisters Gladys Peterson of Howard Lake, Arlene Buranen of Annandale, Elsie (Ed) Sund of Silverdale, WA and Pearl (Mark) Fobbe of Maple Lake; sisters-in-law Patricia and Irene Walberg; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents Gust and Amanda Walberg; wife Beryl Walberg; daughter Christine Neilson; granddaughter Amanda Walberg; sisters Celeste Lange and Bernice Johnson; and brothers Milton, Alden, Ernold and John Walberg.

The casket bearers will be Clair Nelson, Skip Nolan, Duane Johnson, Mark Erickson, Jim Gunnerson, Chad Walberg, Floyd Johnson and Cory C. Walberg.  Annette Aleshire will provide the music for the service.  Military honors will be provided by the Minnesota National Guard Honor Guard.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
