Clement M. Van Lith, age 80, of Annandale died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Clement Martin Van Lith was born on September 14, 1929 in Perham to Christian and Elizabeth (Croymann) Van Lith. He was united in marriage to Ida Williams on November 11, 1952 in Maple Lake. Clement proudly served his Country with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He farmed in Clearwater Township from 1954-1997 and also for a time hauled milk. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and was on the Clearwater Township Board, where he served as supervisor. He also volunteered for We Care We Share. Clement enjoyed 500, cribbage, eating out & being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ida; children Mona (Mark) Peery of Annandale, Denise (Paul) Opgrand of Princeton, Gene (Sue) of Buffalo, Rebecca of Plymouth, Mary Swedzinski (C.J. Middlebrooks) of Plymouth, Lisa of Annandale, Greg of Stillwater; sisters, Grace Marines of CA, Rose Marines of CA, Elizabeth Wiese of Minneapolis, Delores (Jack) Lyrenmann of AZ, Mary (Norman) Lieder of St. Cloud; brothers, Joe (Martie) of Grand Rapids, Tom (Betty) of Rice, Don (Helen) of AK, grandsons Shawn & Steve Peery, Dan & Nick Van Lith, Jesse Swedzinski, Justin Worden, granddaughters Brittany Worden, Mandy & Megan Van Lith, and Andrea Swedzinski. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Helen Bukowski, Anne Morin, Louise Georges and brothers Chris, Clifford & Larry.
The grandsons will be pallbearers and the granddaughters will be honorary pallbearers. The St. Ignatius Guitar Group will provide the music for the service and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
