Viola Anderson, age 94, of Minneapolis formerly of Kimball died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the North Memorial Residential Hospice, Brooklyn Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the North United Methodist Church, 4350 Fremont Ave N, Minneapolis with Rev. Linda Koelman officiating. Burial will follow in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the Church. Memorials are preferred to North United Methodist Church or Kimball United Methodist Church.
Claudia Viola Anderson was born September 12, 1914 at Dassel to Charles and Elsie (Hanson) Anderson. She was raised in Kimball and in 1934 moved to Minneapolis where she did housekeeping, worked at a defense plant and then Iowa National Mutual Insurance Company for 24 years, retiring in 1976. She enjoyed cross-stitch and crocheting. She had great faith in her Lord and was a member of North United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a niece, Claudia (Arlen) Houska of Finlayson; nephew, Alan (Minako) Holst of Tel Aviv, Israel; great nieces & nephews, Julie, Wendy, Sakura, Mickey, & Daisuke; great great nephews & niece, Brian, Robert, Brenda, & Joseph. She was preceded in death by brothers Hans & Carl, and sister Evelyn Thompson Holst.
