Mr. Clarence L. C.L. Rassat, age 77, of Maple Lake died Saturday, November 23, 2002 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Mark Huberty officiating. Inurnment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Clarence Leo C.L. Rassat was born April 24, 1925 in Buffalo to Willard and Elsie (Varner) Rassat. He served his country in the US Army during WW II. On November 3, 1948 he married Muriel M. Kotilinek in Maple Lake. Clarence owned and operated Rassat Oil Company, Maple Lake for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He lived in Maple Lake all his life where he was a member of St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake American Legion Post # 131, Maple Lake VFW Post # 7664, and a retired member of Maple Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Clarence loved his family and grandchildren, enjoyed auctions, woodworking, repairing small engines and bicycles, and enjoyed many winters in Yuma, AZ.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Muriel of Maple Lake; sons, Bob (Jackie) of Buffalo, Dan (special friend, Sharon) of Maple Lake, Ron (Jody) of Maple Lake, Joe (Linda) of Maple Lake; daughter, Cheryl Blackwell of Yuma, AZ; sisters, Shirley Otten of Buffalo, Phyllis Gutzwiller of Osseo, Elizabeth Harden of St. Cloud; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. His parents; three brothers, Walter, Harold, and Ralph preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Jay, Mark, Brent, and Sam Rassat, Chad Blackwell, and Tom Neu. Honorary pallbearers were Heather Albachten, Stacie Blackwell, Melanie Rassat, and Megan Trigg.
