Obituary

Chester G. Schmidt, age 75, of 162 Ash St. W., Annandale, formerly of Kimball, died Sunday, February 22, 2004 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2004 at St. John`s Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. David Doppenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Fair Haven Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Thursday at St. John`s Lutheran Church.

Chester George Schmidt was born January 9, 1929 in Fair Haven Township, Stearns County to Ted and Ada (Meyer) Schmidt. He married Shirley Fieldseth August 26, 1950 in Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven and they lived in the Kimball area until moving to Annandale 7 years ago. Chet was a DHIA Supervisor working for the Stearns County Dairy Herd Improvement Association for 38 years and worked part-time for Gannon Elevator Co., Kimball for 15 years. He was a former member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven and St. John`s Lutheran Church, Kimball where he was Sunday School Superintendent and Church Officer for many years. He was a member of the Kimball Lions Club and St. John`s Lutheran Church. Chet enjoyed family and friends, and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Annandale; two daughters & their husbands, Sharon & Brad Bouska of Annandale and Jackie & Gordy Morrill of Walker; five brothers and their wives; Howard and Lola of South Haven, Darrel and special friend Colleen of South Haven, Kenneth and Wanda of Kimball, Ronald and Marlys of Moorhead, Roger and Peggy of Elk River; sister in law, Dolly Schmidt of South Haven; seven grandchildren, Chad Kuechle, Heather Moseley, Justin Bouska, Teresa Zuehl, Shannon Bouska, Greg Morrill and Katie Morrill; two great grand children, Sunny Kuechle and Samantha Zuehl. His brother, Delmer preceded him in death.

The pallbearers will be Chad Kuechle, Nichi Hirsch, Heather Moseley, Craig Moseley, Justin Bouska and Sarah Mol. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Howard, Darrel, Kenneth, Ronald and Roger Schmidt.

The musicians will be Lynn Hoff, organist and Jim Fieldseth, Andrew Strand, and Rev. David Doppenberg as vocalists.

Memorials are preferred to St. John`s Lutheran Church, Annandale.
