Cheri A. Johnson, age 59, of Ramsey, Minnesota died peacefully but unexpectedly on August 5, 2025, in Newfoundland, Canada, while on vacation.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Angela Woosley as the Life Tribute Celebrant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope.
Cheri Ann Kies was born on July 30, 1966, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Michael and Nancy (Jennrich) Kies. Cheri was a cherished daughter, beloved mother, and devoted friend who touched the lives of all who knew her. She lived in Ramsey, Minnesota, since 1991. Cheri loved to embrace the beauty of life, traveling to new places, enjoying the great outdoors, and finding joy in the company of animals, including chickens, ducks, rabbits, and dogs. Music filled her heart, and she found delight in attending concerts and spending tranquil afternoons napping in her cherished hammock.
Cheri embodied a spirit of selflessness and compassion, consistently putting the needs of family and friends before her own. Her love and dedication were most evident in her role as a homemaker and a mother. She and her spouse Steve raised their two children, Justine and Joseph, with boundless love and support. Cheri's kindness extended beyond her family; her heart found room for stray animals and all those in need, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to caring for others.Cheri will forever be remembered for her generous spirit, her love for her family, and her unwavering compassion for all living beings.
She is survived by her children, Justine (Andrew) Carroll of Buffalo and Joseph (Alexys) Johnson of Zimmerman; grandchildren: Jaxson and Adilynn Carroll, with one more grandson on the way; father, Michael (Joni) Kies of Ft. Myers, FL; uncle, Gary (Deb) Jennrich; ex-husband, Steve Johnson; stepsiblings, Bryan Obert, Jeff (Tabatha) Obert, and Diahnn (Dave) Murdock; and other family members and friends. Cheri was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy and sister, Michele Kies.
