Mr. Carroll M. Meek, age 77, of Annandale died peacefully with his family around him on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at home.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Thomas Queck officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the church.
Carroll Merrill Meek was born August 30, 1926 in Walnut Grove to Clyde and Minnie (Kunze) Meek. He was a WW II veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army. Carroll married Norma E. Koopman February 6, 1955 in Richfield. He worked construction until his retirement in 1981. Carroll lived on Clearwater Lake and Mille Lacs Lake until returning to Annandale in 1997. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale, Local 49, and the Bloomington American Legion. Carroll loved fishing, hunting, gardening, winters in Arizona, and being with his family. He found great pleasure in doing things for his family and friends.
Carroll is survived by his wife of 49 years, Norma of Annandale; daughter, Laurel (Mark) Miller of Annandale; stepsons, Larry (Sarah) Rupp of Eagle, ID, Douglas Rupp of Slayton, and Steven (Cindy) Rupp of Mankato; stepdaughter, Cheryl (Karl) Edwards of Annandale; sisters, Dorsie Lewis of Slayton, Lila Bailey of Sioux Falls, SD, and Lois Reynolds of Westbrook; sister in law, Lorraine Meek of Westbrook; nephews; and niece; grandchildren, James (Amy) Miller, Joel Miller, and Chelsie Miller; step grandchildren, Martin, Eleise, Katherine, Christopher, Adam, Tristen, Lincoln, Tyson, Rylan, Landon, Beckyn, Alexa, Julie, and Suzanne; step great granddaughters, Laura and Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Evelyn and Helen Weeks; brothers, Eugene and Don.
Pallbearers will be Martin Holm, Lincoln, Tyson, Rylan, Landon, Christopher, and Adam Rupp, Jim and Joel Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll, Anthony, Wayne, Phillip, Ancil, and Paul Reynolds. Music for the funeral provided by Kathy Queck and Christopher Rupp.
