Calvin T. Nordberg, age 84, of South Haven died Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Buffalo Hospital after an 8 year battle with cancer
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Memorial Services held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Annandale Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Dennis Johnson officiating.
Calvin Theodore Nordberg was born April 11, 1927 to Orvis and Flora (Kuhnley) Nordberg on the family farm in Southside Township, Wright County; he lived there his entire lifetime. He was a 1945 graduate of Annandale High School and learned welding at Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He married Shirley Stueck on August 12, 1950 in South Haven. Calvin dairy farmed and then worked for local machine shops. For twenty years he was a Millwright for General Mills at their James Ford Bell Technical Center in Golden Valley. He enjoyed gardening & photography and loved making & fixing things for family & friends.
He is survived by his wife Shirley of South Haven, children & their spouses Cheryl & Mike Majerle of Goldsboro, NC, Kevin & Robin of Hutchinson, Ted & Cindy of South Haven, Eric & Sheryl of Colorado Springs, CO, sister Harriet Flygare of Annandale, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Anna Famularo, sister Ardis Moore, and brother Elwyn.
The honorary pallbearers will be Andrew, Joshua, Calvin Jon, and Alex Nordberg. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
