Obituary

Bonnie J. Smith, age 52, of Puyallup, Washington died on Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by the love and care of her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Kevin Magner as Celebrant. A private burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. In honor of Bonnie, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society. Bonnie Jean Neutz was born August 19, 1971, in Buffalo, Minnesota to Gary and Jean (Paumen) Neutz. She grew up in rural Silver Creek Township, along with her three brothers. Bonnie received the sacraments of baptism, first communion, and confirmation all at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. She was a 1989 graduate of Annandale High School. She then furthered her education at St. Cloud State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in education. While she lived in Sauk Rapids, Bonnie worked for the Boys and Girls Club. During this time, she met a young man from Washington state named, Dale. In 2001, Bonnie and Dale were united marriage at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Together they moved out to Washington, where Bonnie has resided since. Upon their move, Bonnie continued working for the Boys and Girls Club in addition to doing taxes at H&R Block. As a lifelong learner, Bonnie changed careers and in 2006, began working for IntelePeer as a senior financial analyst. Her unwavering commitment to her work and her innate ability to excel in all her endeavors made her an invaluable asset to her employer and colleagues. Bonnie will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, love for literature, and her insatiable appetite for knowledge. She valued her Catholic upbringing and found solace in her spirituality, guiding her through life's challenges with grace and strength. Bonnie's inquisitive mind and love for learning extended beyond her professional life, as she found joy in exploring the world through books, movies, and music. Her compassion towards animals and her passion for caring for them reflected her kind and gentle nature. She is survived by her parents, Gary and Jean Neutz of Annandale; brothers, Michael (Erin) of Savage, Jason (Michelle) of Annandale, and Steven (Nicole) of Annandale; nieces and nephews, Abigail, Zachary, Jackson, Carter, Madison, Megan and Jacob Neutz; her beloved cat, Roxy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, work colleagues, and friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; and grandparents, Maurice and Frances Neutz, and Leonard and Muriel Paumen. Bonnie's nephews will serve as urn bearers. St. Ignatius Music Ministry will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
