Betsy B. Stelton, age 84 of Kimball died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Annandale Care Center.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the Kimball Church of Christ. Rev. Vern Harris will officiate and burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Betsy Bertha Stelton was born August 4, 1923 in Kimball to George and Lily (Olson) VanNurden. She married Gilbert Stelton on September 29, 1943 in Kimball and he preceded her in death in 1973. Betsy worked as a postal clerk for the US Postal Service for 28 years. She was a member of the Kimball Church of Christ, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was a member of the Ladies Aide. Betsy enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making crafts.
She is survived by her children, Judy Lusti of Annandale, Allen (Barb) of Buffalo and Harold (Sue) of Annandale; grandchildren, Kim, Brad, Steve, Dan, Holly, Dave and Bridget; great grandchildren, Eli, Erin, Emma, Katelynn, Isabella, Lindsey, Brandon, Benjamin, Teagan and Taylor; sisters, Loretta (Maynard) Olson of New Hope, Rose Ann (Florian) Donnay of Kimball, Blanche (Allen) Miller of South Haven and Behula (Leon) Worcester of Oklahoma; brother, Thomas (Jennie) VanNurden of Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Bernard, James, Harland, Walter, Dennis, Lelen and William 'Aciel' VanNurden; sisters, Carrie, Leona and Vera Mae; and son-in-law, Darrell Lusti.
Jamie Miller, Lori Miller, Tracey Bruns and Shari Goff will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Kimball.
