Obituary
Mrs. Bernice L. Smith, age 95, of South Haven formerly Minneapolis died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Rev. Paul Christopherson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clearwater. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
Bernice Lulu Smith was born October 23, 1909 in Morris to Jacob Wm. and Sophia M. (Sax) Nelson. She married Frank A. Smith October 6, 1928 in Morris and he preceded her in death October 3, 1954. Bernice raised her family in the South Haven area and moved to Minneapolis after the death of her husband. While in Minneapolis she was an apartment caretaker and retired at the age of 90 in 2000. She loved her family, enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Bernice is survived by 4 daughters, Jean Krause of Prior Lake, Barbara Andrews of South Haven, Beverly Campion of Fridley, and Patricia (LeRoy) Chamberlain of Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters; 4 brothers; and two sons, Roland and William.
Pallbearers will be David, Joe, and Kent Andrews, Charles Smith, Doug Frahm, and Pete Campion.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
