Bernice L. Johnson, age 84, of Kimball died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Hilltop Care Center, Watkins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kimball with Rev. Timothy Nerud officiating. Burial will follow in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a prayer service 8 p.m. Thursday.
Bernice Lillian Johnson was born March 31, 1923 in Forest Prairie Township, Meeker County to Oscar and Bertha (Lohse) Lund. She married Anfred L. Johnson on May 16, 1942 in Litchfield and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1991. She was a homemaker and also worked as a nursing assistant for Madden Nursing Home. Bernice was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 261 Auxiliary, and the 40 & 8. She enjoyed her flowers, television game shows, crocheting, and playing cards.
She is survived by sons & their wives, Edward (Bill) & Imelda of San Diego, John (David) of Kimball, Benny (Donny) & Linda of Cannon Falls; brothers, Elmer Lund of Darwin, Arnold Lund of Landfall, Darlene Lossman of Hartman, AR, Myrtle Ninow of Bird Island; 6 grandchildren, Scott, Angel, Jessi, Josh, Noelle & Cheri; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Anfred Jr.; sister, Margaret Johnson; and brothers, Larry & Vernon Lund.
The pallbearers will be Edward (Bill), John (David), Benny (Donny), Scott, & Josh Johnson, and Dana Lund. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
