Obituary

Belle G. Scanlon, age 101, of Maple Lake died Friday, August 6, 2004 at the Pine Haven Care Center, Pine Island.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will follow in St. Timothy's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Belle Geneva Scanlon was born May 25, 1903 in Maple Lake to Richard H. & Ann (Welton) Jude. She married Dr. Maurice Scanlon in the summer of 1933 and he preceded her in death November 26, 1954. Belle was a homemaker and member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake. She lived in the Maple Lake and Howard Lake area most of her life, and has been a resident of the Pine Haven Care Center, Pine Island for the past 3 years. Belle enjoyed sewing, playing cards, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.

Many nieces and nephews survive Belle. She was preceded in death by brothers, Richard, William, Bernard, Paul, Cyrus, and Ralph; sisters, Margie Smith, Esther Quinn, Harriet May, and Beatrice Jude.

Pallbearers will be Brian Jude, Peter Elam, Charles Jude, Mike Jude, Mark Loch, and Peter Jude. Music for the funeral provided by Krista Elsenpeter and Kevin Smith.
