The coolest grandma ever was born on Sept 4, 1919 to Jess and Lillian (Oberson) Henneman in Annandale, Minnesota, where she attended and graduated from high school, and where she later worked as a cook in the school kitchen.
Audrey married John Tufts in April 1939 in Rochester, MN, moving to and residing in South Haven nearly all her life. Audrey loved butterflies, sewing, reading, Joe Maurer, crossword puzzles and chocolate shakes; but most of all, she loved her family and friends. She will be remembered for her charm and wit and gracious style. Her proudest accomplishments were graduating from the Minneapolis School of Beauty Culture in 1938 and working at an aircraft factory in San Diego, California during World War II.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Laurel (Steve) Yanish of Sartell; her three grandchildren, Bob (Bunny) Yanish of Rochester, Kristi (Chris) Anderson of St. Cloud and Leigh (John) Lessard of Sauk Rapids; along with her five great-grandchildren, Tori, Johnny, Kassy, Will and Max; her sister, Shirley Tripp of Wayzata; niece, Jeanne (Steve) Dinnerstein of Cinncinati, OH; and nephew, Greg Tripp of Minnetonka and their families. She is preceded in death by her husband, John; and brother-in-law, Phillip Tripp.
Audrey's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Talahi Care Center who lovingly danced with and cared for her during her last days, and also to Chaplain Steve for his dedicated love and care.
