Arthur F. Sayler, age 90, of Annandale, formerly of Long Lake, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at his home.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Pastor Dave Nelson officiating. Burial will be 10:45 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis at Assembly Area 2. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, Wednesday, at the church.
Arthur Frank Sayler was born October 6, 1922 in Mosinee, WI to Wesley and Edna (Noel) Sayler. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in Sandy Creek, NY with the class of 1940. Arthur served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On May 11, 1946, Arthur was united in marriage to Anna Mae Hauge in Dawson, MN; she preceded him in death on August 10, 2006. Art worked as a Regional Manager for the Maytag Company for 36 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting.
Arthur is survived by his loving companion Lorraine Benson of Annandale; children Pam (Bruce) Anderson of Corcoran, Mike of Long Lake and Dawn (Paul) Neale of Rogers; 10 grandchildren Mark Peterson, Rachel Sutton, Michael, Elizabeth, Jason and Anna DeSantis, Sean and Bryan Sayler, and Kyle and Kayla Kirschner; and 2 great grandchildren William and Sam Peterson. He is preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Edna; step father Floyd Robbins; wife Ann; daughter Cheryl DeSantis; son in law Gary DeSantis; granddaughter Sarah Peterson; three brothers and two sisters.
Orma Lou Jacobsma, organist, and Mike Breidenbach, bagpiper, will provide the music for the service. The Ft. Snelling National Cemetery Memorial Rifle Squad will provide the military honors at the cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
