Arnold C. Schmidt, age 94, of Annandale died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. with Memorial Services held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Duane Hetland officiating. Private interment at the Fair Haven Cemetery will take place at a later date. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
Arnold Charles Schmidt was born November 6, 1912 at Fair Haven to Albert and Amelia (Kramer) Schmidt. He served his Country during WW II in the US Army. Arnie married Irene E. Frank on Janaury 22, 1949 in Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven. He was employed by the City of Annandale in the Maintenance Department for 31 years, retiring in 1983. He was a 27-year member of the Annandale Fire Department and member of Maple Lake VFW Post 7664 & Maple Lake American Legion Post 131. Arnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Irene of Annandale; daughters, Anna Schmidt of Maplewood, Christina (Curtis) Lantto of Chaska, Diane Schmidt of Annandale; granddaughter, Wanda (Edmund) Hanson of Silver Lake; and 2 great granddaughters, Brittany & Alexis Hanson. Brothers William & Walter, sister Louise, an infant brother and an infant sister preceded him in death.
