Arlene M. Howland, age 79, of Maple Lake died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Buffalo Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake with Rev. Steven King and Rev. Peter Martinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Lake Community Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Arlene Margaret Howland was born December 28, 1928 in Perham to Dietrich and Minnie (Grewe) Eggers. She married Wayne R. Howland on May 17, 1958 in Minneapolis and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2006. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook for School District #13 in Columbia Heights. Arlene was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and it's Quilters Group. She enjoyed her home, family, grandsons, sewing, & animals and was an avid baseball fan.
She is survived by her daughter & son in law, Sandy & Greg Caron of St. Michael; three grandsons, Cody, Travis & Tanner Caron of St. Michael; brothers & their wives, Henry & Doris Eggers of Duluth, Norbert & Pat Eggers of Hoffman; and a sister, Leona Archerd of Mankato. Her husband and sister Olga Eggers preceded her in death.
The pallbearers will be Cody, Travis, & Tanner Caron, Kent, Galen & Steve Archerd, and Harry Lindberg. The music for the service will be provided by Wendy Clark, pianist and Becky King, soloist. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
