Arlene H. Bedel, age 81, of Glenwood and formerly of Morris and Alexandria, died Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2006 at Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale with Rev. Jerry Albert officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Arlene Harriet Bedel was born December 15, 1924 in Jackson to Edward and Josephine (Bushman) Jessen. She married Grant Messenbrink and they latter divorced. She married Robert Bedel and he preceded her in death in 2002. Arlene was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church, Glenwood.
She is survived by her children, Gary Messenbrink of San Jose, CA, Dale Messenbrink of Annandale, Robert Messenbrink and wife, Bonnie of Annandale, and Janet Bendt of Alexandria; step children and their spouses, Bob Bedel and wife Jean of Cyries, Sandy Foss and husband Lenny of Winsted, and Charlene Hagman and husband Mark of Winsted; sister, Ethel Bieser of Windom; sister-in-law, Violet Jessen of Verndale; 5 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 23 step great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Her parents; husband; two grandchildren; and brothers, Selmer and Alfred Jessen preceded her in death.
Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Shawn Strawbridge, Jody Lang, Michelle Rudolph, Rebecca Messenbrink, and Victoria Messenbrink. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
