Obituary
Mrs. Ardell F. Aretz, age 84, of Maple Lake died Sunday, September 14, 2003 at the home of her daughter in Hector, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Mark Huberty and Father Mark Pavlik officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Ardell Frances Aretz was born February 28, 1919 in Maple Lake the second of five children to Francis and Anna (Otten) Lemieux. She was raised in Maple Lake and attended country school near Rasset. Ardell married John B. Aretz September 30, 1944 and became mother to LeRoy, LuVerna, Lester, and Marilyn. Ardell and John had a daughter, Anna Lou. John preceded Ardell in death May 13, 2001. Ardell lived in Maple Lake most of her life where she was homemaker and member of St. Timothy`s Catholic Church. She worked at Carlson Dolls for 20 years, first at home and then at the factory in Maple Lake. Ardell`s passions were her family, making quilts, baking pies, canning, listening to the radio, playing cards, and visiting with friends and relatives.
Ardell is survived by five children and their spouses, Anna Lou (Ralph) Rham of Hector, Lee (Marty) Aretz of Crystal, LuVerna Dalman of Minnetonka, Les (Janet) Aretz of Maple Lake, and Marilyn (Les) Dalman of Buffalo; sister, Geraldine Vetch of Albertville; sister in law, Bertha Lemieux of Coon Rapids; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Magdaline Daleiden; brother, Jude Lemieux; and an infant brother; brother in laws, Harold Vetch and Otto Daleiden; son in law, Kenneth Dalman; and daughter in law, Marion Aretz.
Pallbearers will be Tom, Bill, and John Dalman, Lyle, Kevin, and Gary Vetch.
Music for the funeral provided by St. Timothy`s Resurrection Choir.
