Obituary
Ann T. Meuwissen, age 79, of Annandale died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She fought cancer for over four years, never giving up hope and always keeping faith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday. There will be a prayer service 6 p.m. Thursday.
Ann Therese Meuwissen was born July 28, 1933 in Winnebago, MN to George and Elaine (Wheeler) Murry. She graduated from Hector High School in 1950 and in 1954 from the College of St. Catherine with a Registered Nursing degree. She married Benice P. Meuwissen on September 8, 1956 at Norwood and since 1957 has lived in Annandale. She was a homemaker, nurse and worked in the Annandale Deputy Registrar's Office. Ann was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, Annandale Improvement Club, and Annandale Health & Community Services Auxiliary. She was a CCD Teacher & Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for the American Red Cross, Junior Great Books, and Girl & Boy Scouts. Ann enjoyed bible study, playing bridge & golf, reading, sewing, needle work, cooking, baking, traveling, beating Ben at Hand and Foot, and time spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband Ben of Annandale, children & their spouses Mary & Thomas Nowak of Annandale, Beth & Larry Snyder of Wimberley, TX, Susan & Russel Ergen of St. Cloud, Patrick & Alice Meuwissen of Annandale, Michael & Mary Meuwissen of Eagan, sister Margaret Lussenhop of Morton, brother Paul (Bonnie) Murry of Costa Rica, 14 grandchildren: Christi, Tony, Phil & Jackie Nowak, Patrick, Charlie, Mary & Katy Snyder, Emily (Pete) Schultz, Paul Ergen, James & Angela Meuwissen, Teresa & Jack Meuwissen, and great grandson John Schultz. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Baby Ann, sister Patricia Harris, brothers Laurence & Pat Murry, brothers in law Tom Harris, Larry Lussenhop & Jerome Meuwissen and sisters in law Lorraine & Kaye Murry.
The pallbearers will be Ann's grandsons: Patrick & Charlie Snyder, Paul Ergen, Tony & Phil Nowak, Jack & James Meuwissen. The music for the service will be provided by St. Ignatius Music Ministry and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
