Andrew J. Maus, age 78, of Kimball passed away at CentraCare Health – Paynesville Hospital on May 26, 2014 with his loving family by his side.  Andrew had a long battle with COPD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Kimball with Fr. Thomas Olson, Fr. Gerald Mischke and Fr. Paul Folsom  as the Celebrants.  Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the funeral, Monday, both at the church.  Parish prayers will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church and the Knights of Columbus will lead a Rosary at 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Catholic Charities or the Kimball Fire Department.

Andrew J. Maus was born June 20, 1935 to Andrew and Mary (Bates) Maus in Kimball.  He graduated from St. John's Preparatory School in Collegeville with the Class of 1953.  He served his country after the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956.  After his service, Andy attended St. Cloud Business College.  In 1956, Andy went into business with his father at the Standard Oil and DeSoto & Plymouth dealership; the business grew and Andrew's sons are now running the business as A.M. Maus and Son, a third generation company.

Andrew married Dorothy Konz on January 23, 1960 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake; they made their home in Kimball.  Andy belonged to the Kimball American Legion Post 261, Knights of Columbus Council 11345 and the Catholic Order of Foresters.  He was an active member of St. Anne's Parish, where he served as lector, usher, served Mass for funerals and was on the finance committee.  Andy enjoyed all sports, his cabin at the lake and playing golf.  What he enjoyed most was being with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Dorothy of Kimball; children & their spouses Ed & Sue Maus of Kimball, Cary Maus & Bobbi Olson of Kimball, Ellen & Brad Libbesmeier of Watkins, Donna Maus of Kimball and Steve & Brenda Maus of Kimball; 8 grandchildren Tiffany, Tabitha, Jenna, Chelsey, Avery, Claire, Abigail and Jarod; 2 great grandchildren Rean and Thayer; sisters Rosalia Murray of Kensington, MD, Fay Sullivan of Richfield, Andrietta  Palm of St. Cloud, Mary Helen (Art) Cook of Silver Springs, MD, Cecilia (Paul) Nieman of Little Falls and Aurine (Joe) Schlanser of Twinsburg, Ohio; and brother Tom (Mary) Maus of Gurnee, IL.  He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew & Mary Maus and infant son Lawrence.

Pallbearers will be Ed, Cary, Steve and Tiffany Maus, Brad and Ellen Libbesmeier.  Chelsey Maus, Frosty Schiefelbein, and the St. Anne Choir will provide the music for the service.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
