Andrew "Andy" Hudek, age 57, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Michael Izen will officiate and burial will be at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, East Maple Lake. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake.
Andrew "Andy" Hudek was born July 16, 1951 in St. Cloud to Clifford and Lois (Fouquette) Hudek. He graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1969. On September 25, 1971, he married Barb Barrett at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Over the years, Andy worked for Annandale Contracting, Buffalo Bituminous and Engels Truck Service as a heavy equipment operator and a mechanic. He was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Hasty - Silver Creek Sportsman Club, Maple Lake VFW Men's Auxiliary Post 7664, Maple Lake Community Theater and the Wright County Car Club. Andy enjoyed restoring pedal tractors and classic cars. He also enjoyed helping people and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barb; son, Chad (fiancAC., Linda Evans) of Maple Lake; grandchildren, Shania and Chantel; father, Clifford of Maple Lake; brother, Al (Julie) of Maple Lake; sisters, Mary Jo (Larry) Schulz of Fergus Falls and Carol (Larry) Zeman of Ramsey. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lois; grandparents, Tom and Grace Hudek and Eli and Elizabeth Fouquette; and his brother, David Hudek.
Pallbearers will be Dan Albrecht, Tim Hudek, Marv Smith, Tom Hudek, Nick Hudek and Jonathan Schulz. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Anne Pribyl will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
