Obituary

Amelia "Millie" Dorma, age 95, of Annandale, formerly of Rockford, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Thomas Queck officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.  A prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Amelia Ida Dorma was born on September 14, 1916 in Howard Lake to Martin and Emilie (Bundt) Stueven.  She was baptized, confirmed and attended St. James Parochial School in Howard Lake.  On August 14, 1940, she was united in marriage to Arthur Dorma at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.  They lived on several farms near Howard Lake, before moving to the Dorma homestead in Annandale in 1950.  In 1966, they moved to Rockford and in 2008, Millie moved to Centennial Villa in Annandale.  In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a waitress at the Howard Lake Café and a sales clerk at the Rockford Bakery.  Millie enjoyed gardening, baking, needlepoint, reading, fishing, singing and dancing.

She is survived by her five daughters and their spouses Lael & Charles Anderson of Ramsey, Suzanne & Raymond Schmidt of Buffalo, Cheryl & Dean Bruns of Annandale, Marcia & Steve Connelly of Annandale and Judy & Franke Hardie of Rockford; 14 grandchildren Troy, Dawn, Brent, Travis, Braden, Brandi, Stephanie, Kristen, Kelly, James, Kellie, Craig, Christopher and Karina; 7 great grandchildren Noah, Esther, Tanner, Ethan, Serena, Lachia and Loren; sisters-in-law Leona Stueven, Edna Stueven and Josephine Dorma; and brothers-in-law Hubert Dorma, Edward & Mayme Dorma and Semert Dorma.  She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur, parents Emilie and Martin Stueven; 5 brothers Herbert, Carl, Albert, Adolf and Awalt Stueven; and 7 sisters Della Ruge, Frieda Birkholz, Emma Engel, Theresa Rogness, Elvera Wolff, Rosella Wolff and Helen McRoberts.

The pallbearers will be Merrill Birkholz, Wayne McRoberts, John Wolff and Michael, Gene & Gerry Stueven. The music for the service will be provided by Kathy Queck and Dawn Anderson. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
