Alma LoveJoy, age 87, of South Haven died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Meeker County Memorial Hospital, Litchfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service, Wednesday at the church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Alma Marian LoveJoy was born March 28, 1921 in Rockville to Frank and Agatha (Molitor) Bauer. She married Eugene Lewis LoveJoy on November 15, 1948 in Minneapolis and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2007. They lived in Brooklyn Center prior to moving to South Haven in 1963. Alma was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and the Maple Lake VFW Auxiliary Post #7664. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, camping, spending time at Adult Day Services in Litchfield, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Alma is survived by her children, Albert of St. Cloud, Virgil (Penny) of South Haven and Gloria (Jon) Laney of Dassel; sisters, Julia Voigt of St. Augusta, Leona (Larry) Hahn of Cottage Grove, Cathrine Eichers of Sartell, Clara Stein of Kimball, Tillie (Aldine) Anderson of Stansfield, and Eleanor (Hans) Brendalen of Glidon, WI; 7 grandchildren, Scott, Gregory, Lori, Amber, Stephanie, Stacy and Sara; 11 great grandchildren, Cassie, Kari, Allison, Branden, Ashley, Cali, Chelsea, Willow, Tessa, Maggie, Caity and Lilly. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Mary LoveJoy; brothers, Leo, Mike and Albert Bauer; and sister, Ida Schriner.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Laney, Mike Thompson, Chad Ficker, Joe Krippner, Vicki Butler and Brenda Brannan. The St. Ignatius Guitar Group will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
