Obituary
Alice J. Meuwissen, age 43, of Annandale died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hosptial.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Fr. Victor Valencia as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service, Friday, both at the church. A Prayer Service & Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Alice Jane Meuwissen was born May 8, 1970 to Jim and Audrey Hennen in Buffalo. She graduated from Annandale High School in 1988. On May 30, 1992, Alice was united in marriage to Patrick Meuwissen. She worked as a legal secretary for many different attorneys over the years. Alice overcame many obstacles in her life and was a faithful member of AA and OA. She was always willing to share her experience, strength, and hope with others; she was an inspiration to many. Alice had a deep love for our Savior and was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She touched many peoples' lives in her journey here on earth and was loved by all who knew her. She was an avid gardener, loved to read, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her loving husband Pat; beautiful children James and Angela; parents Jim & Audrey Hennen of Maple Lake; brother Randy of Prairie City, OR; sisters & their spouses Barb & Loren O'Brien of Monticello, Pauline & Rick Riehm of Annandale, Teresa & Tim Ferrell of Annandale and Cathy & Paul Segner of Annandale; father-in-law Ben Meuwissen of Annandale; sisters-in-law & their spouses Beth & Larry Snyder, Mary & Tom Nowak and Sue & Russ Ergen; brother-in-law & his wife Mike & Mary Meuwissen; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother-in-law Ann Meuwissen.
The urn bearer will be J.J. O'Brien. The St. Ignatius Music Ministry will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale. The Alice Meuwissen Memorial Fund has been set up at the Annandale State Bank to help with James and Angela's future education expenses. Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 239, Annandale, MN 55302.
