Alice C. Stelton, age 97, of Kimball died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Heritage House of Kimball with her family at her side.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Kimball United Methodist Church with Rev. Luke C. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the service, Thursday at the church.
Alice Christie Stelton was born February 10, 1915 in rural Meeker County to William and Christie (Peterson) Anderson. She graduated from Kimball High School. On October 19, 1946, Alice was united in marriage to Donald H. Stelton in Kimball. Together, they farmed and raised their family in Kingston Township.
Alice was a member of the Kimball United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir, United Methodist Women and was a former Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. Alice enjoyed puzzles, her Snickers candy, and watching the Minnesota Twins.
She is survived by her two children William & his wife Linda of Coon Rapids and Marilyn Gunderson of Mound; brother Donald Anderson of Kimball; sisters & their spouses Eva & Alden Edlund of Rogers and Alpha & Ted Erickson of Bloomington; sisters-in-law Sue Anderson of Gainsville, GA and Ruby Anderson of Kimball; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Christie Anderson; husband Donald; son-in-law Larry Gunderson; and brothers Erwin and Paul Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Sheila, Lauren and Mathew Oquist, Jennifer Kivioja, Stacie Grotte, Derek and Tina Gunderson. Barb Root and Esther Marks will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care, Kimball.
