Obituary
Mr. Aldon H. Benson, age 91, of New Richmond, WI died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at St. Croix Health Center, New Richmond, WI.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 at Ostmark Lutheran Church, 32721 680th Ave., Watkins, MN with Rev. Marion Rova officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
Aldon Harold Benson was born July 30, 1911 in Kingston Township, Meeker County, MN to Gust and Emma (Lindberg) Benson. He married Adeline E. Wiisanen November 16, 1935 in Litchfield; she preceded him in death on May 2, 2003. Aldon lived in the Kingston area most of his life where he farmed on the family farm until retiring in 1987. He lived in Kimball, MN from 1987 until moving to New Richmond, WI in 1997. Aldon was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church, rural Watkins, MN. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling.
He is survived by a son, Gary of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Nancy (Chuck) Magoon of New Richmond, WI; granddaughters, Lisa (Dave) Ritter of New Richmond, WI, Tanya (Kevin) Fairris of Cleveland, TN, and Angela Magoon of New Richmond, WI; 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harry, Edwin, Claude, Raymond, Vernon, and Vangel; sisters, Ruth and Edith.
Pallbearers will be Donald Erickson, George Meline, Orlin Olson, Edwin Hallberg, Donald Moen, and Ronald Strand. Music for the funeral provided by Jeanetta Carlson and Sandy Brown.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball, MN.
