Mr. Wayne R. Howland, age 71, of Maple Lake died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake with Rev. Steven King and Rev. Peter J. Martinson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Lake Community Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel in Maple Lake.

Wayne Russell Howland was born September 6, 1934 in Northfield to Russell and Mary (Harmer) Howland. He married Arlene M. Eggers on May 13, 1958 in Minneapolis. Wayne lived in Columbia Heights and worked 34 years for Onan, Inc, Fridley before retiring in 1990. He has lived in Maple Lake the past 16 years where he was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Wayne loved his family, 3 grandsons, church, boating, cars, and his home.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Arlene of Maple Lake; daughter, Sandy (Greg) Caron of St. Michael; and 3 grandsons, Cody, Travis and Tanner Caron of St. Michael.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Muckey, John Mortenson, Don Sorenson, Gaylen and Kent Archerd, and Cody, Travis, and Tanner Caron.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
